Bring the whole family for a day of hands-on artmaking, lively performances, and interactive experiences that explore how artists have been inspired by flight, space exploration, and the wonder of the skies.
Activities include:
- Listen to a reading of the book, Ablaze with Color: A Story of Painter Alma Thomas, and create art inspired by Alma Thomas
- Dance and sing along to songs about the science and engineering of aviation, performed by STEMusic
- Enjoy the play "Professor Wingnut Wants to Fly" by Smithsonian Associates' Discovery Theater
- Learn how we color the cosmos, using different spectra of light
American Sign Language interpretation available for the story time.
