Soar Together Family Day: Art in Air and Space

Bring the whole family for a day of hands-on artmaking, lively performances, and interactive experiences that explore how artists have been inspired by flight, space exploration, and the wonder of the skies.

Activities include: 

• Listen to a reading of the book, Ablaze with Color: A Story of Painter Alma Thomas, and create art inspired by Alma Thomas


• Dance and sing along to songs about the science and engineering of aviation, performed by STEMusic


• Enjoy the play "Professor Wingnut Wants to Fly" by Smithsonian Associates' Discovery Theater


• Learn how we color the cosmos, using different spectra of light

American Sign Language interpretation available for the story time.

Soar Together programs and Museum admission are free. Timed-entry passes are required. Reserve at airandspace.si.edu.
