Wishy

Wishy is an Indianapolis indie-rock band built around the songwriting partnership of Kevin Krauter and Nina Pitchkites, whose contrasting voices meet in a sound that shifts between dreamy pop and guitar-heavy alt-rock. On their debut album, Triple Seven, shoegaze haze, grunge grit and power-pop hooks share the same bright, restless space. The shimmering title track and “Persuasion,” with its entwined vocals, show the band’s knack for balancing soft-focus melodies with a more muscular edge. That interplay gives Wishy’s songs their pull: they can feel hazy and immediate, wistful and ready to turn up loud.
