A MICHELIN Guide rated trusted neighborhood gem, serving the Woodley Park quarter of Washington, DC since 1986. For over three decades, the restaurant has enticed locals, travelers, dignitaries and even presidents with its upscale New American fare, inviting ambiance and its robust Gin program. Under new ownership since 2021, New Heights’ new proprietors (including the Executive Chef), hail from Ukraine, Bolivia and Iran. They are proud of their varied heritage, long tradition of culinary excellence, and personal involvement in every facet of the business; it is these traits that continue to captivate loyal patrons today.
Dishes that have enthused food critics and diners alike include the Broccolini Caesar, Tuna Poké Tacos, Pan Seared Halibut with Coconut Broth and the Pistachio Ricotta Cake. The restaurant features floor-to-ceiling windows that open up the cozy bar onto Calvert Street, allowing the patio and bar to merge into a delightful meeting place for drinks and casual dining. The vista offers diners a mesmerizing visual oasis in the city: DC’s own resplendent Rock Creek Park, the lush Klingle Valley running beneath the art deco Taft Bridge, its historic corner lanterns lighting up Kalorama’s romantic, tapering cityscape.
