Vera Cocina & Bar is a celebration of Lebanese & Mexican cultural heritage.
Inspired by the Lebanese migration to Veracruz, Mexico in the late 19th century, Vera was created to shed light on this hidden history, one of cross-cultural pollination and culinary evolution. As Lebanese immigrants, we honor the journey of our ancestors by telling their story through food, cocktails, and design.
Our menu reflects the way Lebanese and Mexican flavors naturally intertwine, shaped by generations of shared traditions. Homemade recipes from both cultures come to life in dishes that feel familiar yet exciting, crafted with authenticity, warmth, and a respect for history. Our food is not a fusion of two cuisines, but rather an archeological uncovering of the forgotten historical connection between the two.
On Vera’s menu, you will find unique ingredients such as Mexican zaatar, spicy Batata Harra, Reides fritters, and more. Our cocktail program mirrors this harmony, featuring Mezcal and Tequila infused with Arak, Lebanon’s traditional anise liquor, creating drinks that are bold, aromatic, and truly one-of-a-kind.
The space itself is a tribute to both worlds. Terracotta floors, ambient light, plentiful art, whimsical decor and lush greenery warm the space, while exposed cement blocks symbolize the strength and resilience of our cultures.
At its core, Vera offers warm hospitality, making guests feel at home with love, generosity, and a feast reminiscent of our grandmother's home.
