Baltimore Symphony Orchestra - Beethoven's Complete Piano Concertos with Yeol Eum Son

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra joins pianist Yeol Eum Son and Music Director Jonathon Heyward for a rare journey through all five of Beethoven’s piano concertos, performed across one week. The series concludes with the Third and Fifth concertos, including the radiant, boldly scaled work known as the “Emperor.” Together, these pieces trace Beethoven’s changing voice—from the concerto’s lively dialogue between piano and orchestra to music of greater daring and dramatic sweep. Hearing the works in sequence offers a vivid perspective on the composer’s evolution and the many ways a solo piano can challenge, answer and blend with a full orchestra.
