Two outstanding collections of Asian art
The Arthur M. Sackler Gallery and the neighboring Freer Gallery of Art together form the national museum of Asian art for the United States. As part of the Smithsonian Institution the galleries both are dedicated to advancing public knowledge about the arts and cultures of Asia through exhibitions, publications, research and education. The museums are located at 1050 Independence Avenue SW and are open every day except Dec. 25. Hours are from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., and admission is free. Group tours by appointment.
