Baltimore Symphony Orchestra - Don Juan & Stories in Sound

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra turns the orchestra into a storyteller in a program led by Music Director Jonathon Heyward. Richard Strauss’s “Don Juan” surges with the daring energy of its legendary seducer; Ravel’s Shéhérazade follows with mezzo-soprano Fleur Barron voicing tales of travel and enchantment; and Berlioz’s Harold in Italy brings BSO Principal Viola Lisa Steltenpohl into the spotlight. From bold orchestral gestures to intimate solo passages, the three works offer distinct musical worlds—and a chance to hear how composers make stories unfold without words.
