Hampton Pirates at Navy Midshipmen Mens Basketball

Hampton’s Pirates bring a proud postseason tradition to this nonconference matchup with Navy’s Midshipmen. The program has claimed six MEAC tournament titles and made six NCAA Division I tournament appearances, most recently reaching the tournament in 2016 after winning back-to-back MEAC crowns. Hampton now competes in the Coastal Athletic Association, while Navy enters from the Patriot League. The contrast in conference backgrounds and the programs’ championship histories gives this early-season meeting a compelling edge: two storied teams testing themselves beyond their usual league rivals.
