Old Town Fairfax Walking Tour

Tours are free and run the last Saturday of the month May through October.

See the original Courthouse (built in 1800) where George and Martha Washington’s wills are stored. Explore sites of Civil War violence, espionage, and unlikely romance centered around that Rebel bandit, John S. Mosby. And discover local grandees like Ratcliffe, Farr, and Willard, whose legacies formed our City.

The tour starts at the front of the Historic Fairfax Courthouse (corner of Main St. and Chain Bridge Rd.)

We recommend you wear a hat and sturdy walking shoes, and bring a bottle of water. One of our stops is the Ford house, a picture gallery with air conditioning, a water fountain, and restrooms.
