Journalist Newsletter

Dear Journalists,

Preparations for summer events and programming are in full swing following DC Mayor Bowser’s recent announcement of Washington, DC’s full reopening on June 11. After many of DC’s signature summer events last year were canceled, we’re thrilled to see some our favorite events return including a reimagined Capital Pride celebration and the reopening of several Smithsonian museums. In partnership with Events DC, we’re preparing to launch a summer recovery advertising campaign which will highlight unique DC experiences to inspire travel.

We invite you to check out our recently launched DEI District, a content hub to help showcase Washington, DC as a global destination that promotes and validates diversity, equity and inclusion. Through the content, locals, visitors, groups and meetings attendees can discover more about DC’s diverse make up and how to create a long-lasting impact on the city’s communities.

Learn more about DC’s summer happenings, new developments, hotel and restaurant updates, and industry news below. If you need additional assistance with a story or images, please contact our communications team.
