DDC Staff Highlights
The executive office welcomed two apprentices in January, Ariana Hines and Kwame Brown, as well as intern Charles “CJ” Bridge. Mekhi Hayes joined the tourism, sports and visitor experience department as its new intern while Ma-Lyke Davis joined the convention sales and services team as an intern as well.
DEI Cohort 2024
DDC supports local businesses owned by underrepresented groups in the tourism industry. The DEI Business Fellows receive complimentary marketing, mentorship, education and networking opportunities to help sustain and grow their businesses.

Boqueria Referral Program for Tour Operators

Register as an individual or as a team and compete against local organizations for bragging rights and prizes.
Limani hosted students from Ballou and Roosevelt High Schools,Culinary Academies. allowing attendees to learn about the inner workings of a restaurant. Students were able to talk with managers and the head chef about their strategies for running a successful establishment.
AEF hosted seven career academies in culinary, hospitality and mass media for an overnight experience in DC. AEF curated a professional learning opportunity for 68 students that included 12 industry-based activities in 18 hours.
