Destination Celebration (April 1-5, Minneapolis, MN, Kansas City, MO)

The evening networking event was created six years ago by founding co-hosts David Kinney with Louisville Tourism and Lisa Lopez of NYC & Company. The event has been held in Kansas City, Mo. for five years and has grown to include almost 60 destination host sponsors and over 100 meeting professionals. In 2017, it expanded to include a second event in Minneapolis. Katelyn also conducted sales calls in Minneapolis with clients: International Dairy Queen Association, Helmsbriscoe, Ewald Consulting, ImageTrend and ACA International.
Operation Cherry Pie (April 8-10, Washington, DC area)
Attendees: All DDC staff
Annual opportunity for DDC to welcome springtime and meet with clients face-to-face. DDC staff and eight co-ops hand-delivered more than 900 pies to clients and valued partners across the city and surrounding areas.
ASAE Xperience Design Project (XDP) (April 11-12, National Harbor, MD)
Attendees: Alison Ricketts, Nick Cechak, Samantha Fagan
XDP is a two-day business-focused experience for association professionals and their partners. XDP features learning, connections and business, delivering a positive return on investment for the industry partner community and association professional attendees. DDC is participating as a business partner and will conduct appointments with more than 20 qualified meeting professionals on Thursday and Friday.
IAEE Women’s Leadership Forum (April 29-30, Leesburg, VA)
Attendees: Carol Motley, Dianna Waldroup, Jennifer Rodrigues, Alison Ricketts, Jenna Williams, Samantha Fagan
The forum focuses on topics that are unique to women in the exhibitions and events industry, tailored to women of all ages and current positions held within their company. The forum provides knowledge and strategies for attendees to succeed professionally, as well as motivation and inspiration for career growth.
