Les Dames d’Escoffier International Annual Conference (Oct. 11-14, Seattle, WA)

Les Dames d’Escoffier International is a philanthropic organization of women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage and hospitality. The by-invitation membership, composed of over 2,300 members in 42 chapters in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Mexico, is highly diversified and reflects the multifaceted fields of contemporary gastronomy and hospitality. The Annual Conference has an emphasis on professional development and is a networking opportunity to exchange thoughts and ideas.

IMEX America (Oct. 16-18, Las Vegas, NV)

IMEX America is America’s worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events, where over 5,500 decision makers connect with suppliers to learn about meeting and event destinations. This year, DDC, along with seven partners, will exhibit and meet with more than 100 individual attendees and host six group appointments. In addition, Elliott and Melissa will hold a press conference to provide updates on the destination and conduct interviews with journalists.

American Staffing Association’s Staffing World (Oct. 16-18, Gaylord National Harbor, MD)

Sponsored by American Staffing Association, Staffing World is the largest and most comprehensive convention and expo in the staffing, recruiting and workforce industry. It’s the staffing and recruiting industry’s premier learning and networking event. 

National Safety Council Congress and Expo-Show Visit (Oct. 22-23, Houston, TX)

In recent months, DDC has been in contact with the National Safety Council, discussing the possibility of having the Congress and Expo in DC. During Nancy’s show visit, she will gain a better understanding of attendee and exhibitor needs, flow in the convention center and talk with key decision makers.

Travel & Tourism Research Association: Marketing Outlook Forum (MOF) (Oct. 23-25, Las Vegas, NV)

MOF is the travel and tourism research industry’s leading strategic travel forecast conference combining industry networking and quality educational programs into a premier event. MOF provides knowledge, insights and resources to allow researchers to make informed strategic marketing and business decisions.

Maritz Philadelphia Office Visit (Oct. 24, Philadelphia, PA)

Chris will provide a brief update to the Maritz sourcing team and account managers that live in the greater Philadelphia area. A 30-45-minute lunch and learn program will focus on DC’s new and future hotel and venue development.

BizBash Live (Oct. 24, New York City, NY)

Sustainable Brands Show Visit (Oct. 30, Philadelphia, PA)
Attendee: Katelyn Diehl
Sustainable Brands is a community of over 348,000 sustainable business leaders and is headquartered in San Francisco, CA. Their New Metrics program has been in Philadelphia, PA for several years, but the client thinks Washington, DC could be an option in the future. Katelyn will visit Philadelphia to connect with clients and walk through the setup of the show. The visit will aid in recommending the best possible hotel solutions if this show moves to the District.

New York City Sales Calls (Oct. 30 – Nov. 1, New York City, NY)
Attendee: Sharmane Medaris
DDC will partner with the Grand Hyatt to meet with specialty market clients in the New York City area. The team will showcase DC’s hottest new spots and provide updates on the city. Clients included the Anti-Defamation League, the Association of Jewish Studies and Ascend Ministries.
