Convention Sales

Global Pharmaceutical and Medical Meetings Summit (Feb. 4-6, Philadelphia, PA)

Each year, the Summit convenes senior meeting management professionals from the life sciences, medical and healthcare industries for empowering ROI-driven conversations, peer-to-peer knowledge exchange, shared best practices and networking.

Heart Health Client Event (Feb. 12, Washington, DC)
Attendees: Dianna Waldroup, Caitlin Nicolson, Alison Ricketts, Jenna Williams
February is heart health month. DDC is hosting Vinyasa & Vino, a fun heart chakra flow yoga class for clients to unwind after a busy work day. After rolling up their yoga mats, clients will network with partners and enjoy a glass of wine at District Winery.

Destination International’s Destination Showcase (Feb. 13, Washington, DC)

Now in its 31st year, Destination Showcase is North America's only one-day event that connects meeting planners with CVBs, allowing planners to better understand how CVBs make meetings and events successful. This dynamic show offers Destinations International members the opportunity to connect with the nation's top planners in one location.

MPI Potomac’s Mid-Atlantic Conference and Expo (MACE 2019) (Feb. 22, National Harbor, MD)

MACE 2019 will provide hundreds of meeting professionals from the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond an opportunity to learn from industry leaders, advance their careers and impact their organizations. MACE 2019 will focus on education and building strategic business relationships in a unique format, from exhibitions to receptions.

Washington Capitals Family Fun Game (Feb. 24, Washington, DC)

DDC will host 12 clients from the corporate, association and SMERF markets for a family fun day at the Washington Capitals vs. New York Rangers hockey game at Capital One Arena.

MPINCC Annual Conference and Expo & Seattle Sales Mission (Feb. 25 – March 1, San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA)

Winner of the 2017 MPI RISE Award for Marketplace Excellence, MPINCC ACE gathers 1,200 attendees for the premier meetings industry event. Following the MPI Conference in San Francisco, Katelyn and Jennifer will travel to Seattle to visit new and existing customers across three days. Meetings are planned with the following customers: Facebook, Lean Kanban, Tableau, Helmsbriscoe, ConferenceDirect, Opus Agency, Prestige and Microsoft.

International Sales

United Kingdom Sales Mission (Feb. 18-22, London and metro areas, United Kingdom)

Co-Op Partners: CSI Washington, DC, The Canopy D.C. Embassy Row, Marriott International
DDC will conduct its annual United Kingdom sales mission targeting corporate, association and event agencies. The schedule includes a roadshow consisting of 11 client offices, three different events for MICE agencies and a breakfast specifically for corporate and association customers. DDC will reach nearly 50 accounts, including BCD Meetings & Events, BI Worldwide, Ashfield Meetings & Events and WRG.

European Association Summit (EAS) & Target Account Meeting (Feb. 28 – March 1, Brussels, Belgium)
Attendee: Melissa Riley
DDC’s annual participation in the EAS will be coupled with an appointment with the Secretary General of Union Internationale des Transports Publics/International Association of Public Transport (UITP). EAS is in its seventh year and provides educational content delivered by association experts for international association professionals. UITP’s Global Public Transport Summit is a target account for DDC; it’s the world’s biggest conference dedicated to sustainable mobility, with around 2,500 delegates.

What’s in Town?

2019 Capitol Hill Volleyball Classic (Feb. 15-18)
Walter E. Washington Convention Center: Expecting 8,000 attendees with 3,900 rooms on peak.
