Dear Members,
DC’s famed springtime has officially sprung! The cherry blossoms hit peak bloom early on March 26. The National Cherry Blossom Festival continues through this weekend, with events like the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® presented by Events DC on Saturday, April 11 and an afternoon tea in Dupont Circle on Sunday, April 12. Enjoy celebrations across the city.
At Howard Theatre on March 25, Destination DC (DDC) hosted our third annual Sustainability Summit in partnership with DC’s Department of Energy and Environment. The event focused on placemaking and highlighted the shared commitment to maintain the District’s standing as one of the most sustainable cities in the U.S.
On May 14, DDC celebrates DC Loves Buses Day to appreciate and thank the motorcoach drivers who bring visitors to the nation’s capital. Don’t forget to check washington.org for Memorial Day holiday weekend suggestions. This year the holiday falls on Monday, May 25 and features a plethora of DC250 activities.
