Delaware Welcome Center Takeover (July 18, Newark, DE)
Team Leads: Lindsay Hill, Georgia Lucas
The Destination DC (DDC) Visitor Experience will once again be the most popular rest stop on I-95. The team will promote all things summer and America 250 to inbound DC visitors. Activations include a DC museum bingo, an America 250-themed photo booth, and a mailbox for visitors to mail postcards to their future selves in 2026. 
 

Brand USA Japan/South Korea Sales Mission (July 18-28)
Team Lead: Darren Gan
This mission will provide an opportunity for DDC to reach key trade contacts in the South Korea and Japan travel industries. It will also include a South Korea Receptive Tour Operator Training in Seoul and a Japanese Agent Training Session in Osaka.
 

USA Rugby Doubleheader (July 19)
Ilona Maher, alongside USA Women’s Rugby, will line up against Fiji before the USA Men’s Rugby team takes on England in two international friendlies in the nation’s capital. Washington, DC, will be the last stop in this multi-city match series before the USA Women’s team heads off to compete in the Women’s Rugby World Cup. 
 

Mubadala Citi DC Open (July 19-27)
The annual DC tennis tournament returns for another year. Both men's and women's professional players will compete. Recognized globally as a prestigious tournament attracting top athletes, the event takes place at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park. The Center can hold 7,500 spectators, and DDC anticipates over 30,000 attendees across all matches. 
 

A250 Student Tour Operator FAM (July 28-31)
Team Leads: Lindsay Hill, Erika Jones, Frances Golla
This familiarization tour will bring top domestic student tour operators to DC to showcase what’s new for group travel, particularly in anticipation of America’s 250th anniversary.
