Date Nights DC Itinerary: Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend
Catch a glimpse of DC’s most infamous stone, the 45.52-carat (and allegedly cursed!) Hope Diamond, on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
Stop for a light bite to eat at EDGAR inside one of DC’s historic gems, the Mayflower Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel. The restaurant is named after J. Edgar Hoover, who supposedly ate lunch at the hotel nearly every day for 20 years!
Continue uptown along Connecticut Avenue to Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens, and take in the breathtaking views of Post Cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post's estate. Pieces of Post’s beautiful jewelry are displayed inside the opulent mansion, along with delicate porcelain, priceless Russian religious relics and Faberge eggs.
