Date Nights DC Itinerary: Easy Being Green

Take the Old Town Trolley Tour’s Green Loop from Metro Center. The hop-on, hop-off travels to the National Cathedral, Embassy Row, Georgetown and the White House.

Grab lunch at the nearby award-winning Rasika. Mop up crispy spinach with green chili (a signature dish); tandoori lamb with mint chutney or black cod with fresh dill with mint paratha.

Hotel George near Union Station takes pride in “greening” their visitors’ impact on the District. It only brews organic coffee, uses recycled paper and goes all out on energy efficient light bulbs. Turn on, tune in and drop out here.

Bundle up and discover Cultural Tourism DC’s Heritage Trail: Tenleytown. One of the 19 sidewalk signs along the three mile route highlights the WRC-TV studio where Kermit the Frog made his broadcast debut.
