Date Nights DC Itinerary: Modern Family

Visit the International Spy Museum. Kids will enjoy the interactive exhibits that provide a window into what it takes to be a spy. You and your partner will enjoy learning about the high-level espionage.

Head to Hill Country Barbeque in Penn Quarter. The Texas-inspired barbeque restaurant offers brisket, pork, chicken and heaping sides. You can enjoy a cocktail while your kids sit at the picnic tables and feast on messy foods. Wet naps necessary.

Spend your afternoon at the Hillwood Estate and Gardens, Marjorie Merriweather Post’s lavish estate with eye-popping furnishings. The estate has a number of family friendly events throughout the winter season, like Celebrate La Chandeleur on Feb. 6. The day marks the halfway point between winter and spring and is celebrated in French style with fresh crepes.

Check out the Gay Men’s Chorus at Atlas Performing Arts Center on Feb. 12 or 13 for a performance of The Way We Were, featuring the chorus' musical hits from over the years.

Spend the night in the heart of downtown at the JW Marriott, just steps away from White House, should you want to take the family for an evening stroll through the monuments.
