Date Nights DC Itinerary: Value-tines Day

Eat

Who needs money when one has love? There’s a lot to like, however, about saving a few bucks. Curl up at Ping Pong Dim Sum in Chinatown. Yum cha, their daily happy hour from 4-7 p.m. on weekdays.

Do

Catch a movie before 6 p.m. from Monday through Thursday at E Street Cinema and shave a few bucks off your ticket -- those can be spent on a perky espresso.

Eat

Every Sunday-Friday from 5-7 p.m. is “Caippy Hour” at Cuba Libre in Penn Quarter. With $4-$6 picadas (nibbles) and $6 caipirinhas, you might wind up joining the late-night dance party that begins at 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, featuring professional salsa dancers.

Stay

Capitol Hill can be pricy but the Residence Inn has reasonable rates and throws in a complimentary hot breakfast the next morning. A rich deal indeed.
