Jamal Roberts

Jamal Roberts is a gospel and R&B singer whose warm, expressive vocals brought him to the title on season 23 of American Idol. His breakout rendition of Tom Odell’s “Heal,” reworked with gospel touches, became his debut single and reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart. He has continued to shape his own catalog with songs including “Mississippi,” “Nothing Compares” and “Perfect For Me.” Roberts’ music draws on faith, soul and personal storytelling, giving listeners a chance to hear both the power in his voice and the feeling behind the songs.
