Cvent Announces Top Meeting Destinations and Hotels for 2025

Cvent released its 2025 rankings for meetings destinations and hotels. Within North America, Washington, DC saw the most significant shift as it rose to eighth place from 18th in last year’s rankings. Reflecting its extraordinary potential for and growth in meetings, the nation’s capital has secured its spot in the top 10.

 

Customers can now “Tap. Ride. Go.” with contactless credit, debit cards at Metrorail station faregates.

Metro now allows customers to tap their contactless and/or virtual debit or credit card to pay for their Metro fare at the gate. The system known as “Tap.Ride.Go” comes to fruition after being in development since late last year, enhancing the customer experience by fostering convenient and seamless travel. 

 

Robert Watson: 50 remarkable years of service in the hospitality industry.

Robert Watson, the Chef Concierge at Willard InterContinental DC, has recently celebrated 50 years of integral service and contribution within the hospitality industry. The hotel recognized Watson by presenting him with the inaugural Willard Ambassador award, acknowledging his prolonged tenure.

 

Statement From RAMW On The Passage of The DC Council’s Tipped Minimum Wage Clarification Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2025

RAMW thanked DC Council for delaying the planned $2 increase in minimum wage for tipped workers, planned for July 1. Additionally, RAMW acknowledged the change in the District’s economy since I-82 was passed. Due to both insights, RAMW suggested the Council consider new efforts to eliminate taxes on tips, in hopes of fostering financial stability for workers.
