The Washington, DC Welcome and Special Agent Academy
The Washington, DC Welcome is a new hire training program that provides an introduction to DC as a tourist destination. You can incorporate the 10-minute Washington, DC Welcome visitor orientation video into new hire onboarding, and you can further your staff’s knowledge with the in-depth Special Agent Academy. Please make your HR managers aware of these free training resources. Now available in English and Spanish.

FIFA World Cup 2026 Draw (Dec. 5, Washington, DC)
Ahead of the first ever 48-team FIFA World Cup ’26, the Final Draw was held at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. This historic event is a major tournament milestone and brought the global soccer community to the nation’s capital.

Domestic Holiday Group FAM (Dec. 11-13, Washington, DC)

DDC will proudly host top domestic tour operators in Washington, DC for an exclusive, holiday themed FAM tour. In spotlighting the city’s festive attractions, iconic landmarks and unique seasonal experiences, the tour will position DC as a premiere destination for holiday-focused group travel. DDC carefully selected each attendee, and each is actively involved in booking group travel with existing business in DC.
Saturday Night’s Main Event: John Cena’s Final Match (Dec. 13, Washington, DC)
Following a year-long farewell tour, WWE 17-time World Champion John Cena will partake in his final match at Capital One Arena. As part of WWE’s DC takeover, a live episode of “Six Feet Under with The Undertaker,” Mark Calaway’s wrestling podcast, will be staged at the Howard Theatre on Dec. 12.
