A Civic Experiment with Free Beer & Probability Questionnaire
Civic Experiment 1: Free beer starts at 9 pm for our State of the Union Watch Party! The free beer will flow until the first insult is hurled towards an individual or a group of people/country. (Staff Decision; while supplies last) We brought in a ton of kegs for this!
Experiment: How much beer will we have to give out before someone is insulted.
Hypothesis: It will happen quickly and the free beer won't last long. (We bought a ton of kegs just in case!)
Method: Watch the speech on the big screen with your fellow community members
Trigger Event: The first insult is hurled at an individual, group of people or a country
Result: Our community remains civically engaged through a time honored tradition, beer.
Civic Experiment 2: Probability Questionnaire - Become the chief wonk by filling out our probability questionnaire by 9 pm; must be physically present until 9:45 pm to win. Who will the President shake hands with? What will he do with his hands? How many times you you hear his favorite words?
Civic Experiment #2 Prize: A $250 Penn Social Gift Card
The end time for this listed event is arbitrary and will end at the conclusion of the State of the Union. We have no way of knowing how long this may last. The winner of Civic Experiment #2 will be announced on 2/25 to give us a chance to score the questionnaires.
