Discover the Wonders of Science at the Free ACS Event in DC
On Saturday, August 16th, ACS President Dorothy J. Phillips will host a complimentary public event at the Ronald Reagan Building on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC, right next to the Children's Museum. This engaging event is designed for attendees of all ages, making science fun and accessible to the community. Visitors can look forward to hands-on science experiments led by real scientists, interactive activities that spark creativity and critical thinking, and opportunities for memorable photo ops, along with exciting giveaways and prizes throughout the day.
Among the highlights of the event are activities like "Spice Match," where participants discover the origins of spices, and "Spicy Lotion," where they can create their own spice-scented lotion. Attendees can also engage in making long-lasting bubbles with "Cloud Bubble," explore turmeric's properties in "Turmeric Twist," and take part in the "Chemistry Makes Scents" challenge to differentiate various scents. Additionally, the "Secret Message" activity will allow participants to make and erase messages using kitchen chemistry, ensuring a fun and educational experience for everyone.
