Art + Justice: When We See Ourselves as Heroes

A panel discussion of Black superheroes in media

Now - Oct 19, 2023. From: 07:00 PM to 08:30 PM

Join the National Museum of African American History and Culture for an exhilarating conversation panel featuring Eve Ewing, Tim Fielder, and Jonathon Gayles as they delve into the world of Black superheroes in comics and scripted media, discussing their cultural significance and impact on representation. Tatiana King and DJ BenHaMeen, host of the For All Nerd Show, will moderate this panel. This panel also supports the Afrofuturism exhibition at NMAAHC. We encourage all audience members to come to the Museum wearing their favorite superhero t-shirt or cosplaying as their favorite hero.

*Please make sure your costume does not include any prohibited items when passing through security screening. Prohibited items include model guns, 3D weapons, pen knives, pets, food, drinks, scissors, aerosol cans, and tools.
