Dig in to the meaning behind food references in these collections of work.

Jul 05, 2021 - Oct 01, 2021.

Across centuries and cultures, women artists have incorporated images of food into their work as a celebration of identity and healing. Others, however, depict food to reference the traditional confinement of women to the kitchen or the prison of imposed gender norms. From Colette Fu's pop-up book celebrating ethnic Chinese identity to Wewer Keohane's apple-shaped commentary on the story of Adam and Eve, this exhibition of artists' books, graphic novels and zines presents a spectrum of food imagery.
