Capitano is a coastal Italian restaurant inspired by the spirit of Southern Italy’s seaside villages, where life revolves around the sea, the market, and the dinner table. The menu showcases seasonal, ingredient-driven dishes, including fresh seafood, housemade pastas, and bright salads, paired with a Southern Italian–leaning wine list, classic spritzes, and coastal-inspired cocktails. Vibrant yet approachable, Capitano captures the feeling of being on vacation; even if just for a couple of hours.
Ox & Olive draws from Michelin-star chef Ryan Ratino's Midwestern roots to create an approachable à la carte menu. Highlights include in-house made mini brisket hot dogs, steak tartare “eclairs” and the chef’s famous carrot cake.
Moxie’s has opened its first DC location, bringing its signature premium-casual dining concept to the Golden Triangle near Dupont Circle. The restaurant offers a polished, modern lounge-style space and a globally inspired menu with handcrafted cocktails. The space is designed to easily transition between business lunches, happy hour, and evening drinks.
Chai Pani, the James Beard Award-winning Indian street food restaurant from Asheville has arrived in the District. Chefs Meherwan Irani and Vishwesh Bhatt have crafted a menu that fuses Indian street food with fresh creations inspired by Vish’s Gujarati heritage and Southern culinary roots.
Rosselli is a new Italian restaurant near Metro Center. Led by Michelin-starred chef Carlos Cardona, it offers a refined, modern take on Italian dining with dishes ranging from house made pastas and crudo to branzino and osso buco. The intimate counter dining space transports guests to Europe.
Flor Coffee, a Buenos Aires-inspired café and bookshop, is the creation of international author Florencia Argazo and her partner Marco Ferrario. The café serves specialty coffee alongside Argentinian and French pastries, and soft serve from Dolcezza. Guests can browse a handpicked selection of books in English and Spanish, explore Tarot decks, or enjoy a “blind date with a book” focused on well-being.
Kathmandu DC, a new Himalayan-inspired cocktail bar and kitchen on U Street, brings a vibrant mix of Nepali flavors and modern mixology to the neighborhood. The intimate restaurant pairs small plates like momos and spiced Himalayan bites with a cocktail program built around Nepali spirits and ingredients.
Known for Lucky Buns, Chef Alex McCoy, is bringing back Alfie’s in summer 2026. The Isaan-style spot will return in a cozy 25-seat Georgetown location, featuring dishes like beef-rib khao soi, plus natural wines and cold beer.
The iconic Giordano’s is coming to DC this summer. Famous for its Chicago deep-dish pizza, the pizzeria uses Wisconsin mozzarella, Mendocino County tomatoes, and specially sourced Minnesota flour. The restaurant will occupy the former home of MXDC and offers dine-in, takeout, and delivery options.
Chef Carlos Delgado of Maru San, Causa and Amazonia will be opening his latest venture, Brisa, this summer. The restaurant will bring a Tulum-inspired waterfront dining concept to Buzzard Point. The menu will focus on seafood and Latin cuisine with an innovative cocktail program.
The beloved Baltimore-born artisan bakery from the Paterakis family, Kneads Bakeshop & Café, is set to bring its signature breads, pastries, and all-day café experience to Logan Circle. The new outpost will mark the brand’s first full expansion into the District, offering a full-service menu with grab and go options in addition to sit down dining.
Originating in New York, Dead Rabbit is coming to the District. The two-story bar will bring a taste of Ireland, featuring fresh pints of Guinness, Irish coffees and whiskeys, delivering the spirit and world-class hospitality that an Irish pub is known for.
Taki Taki is expected to open later this year on Capitol Hill, bringing a fresh take on Indian fine dining. The restaurant will showcase regional flavors, a warm and inviting ambiance and timeless, rich Indian traditions.
Pitango Gelato is expanding to 14th Street. Known for hand-churned gelato made with organic milk and fresh ingredients, the new shop will offer 20 rotating flavors, including dairy-free sorbets. The space will also serve Vigilante Coffee, Italian baked goods, and house-made treats like biscotti and almond cookies.
Tempo by Hilton Washington, DC Downtown

A 12-story former office building with the timely address of 1776 K Street NW in the heart of downtown DC was converted into a 278-key Tempo by Hilton. Amenities at the new hotel include two lobby-level dining options – a Bluestone Lane coffee shop and Public Interest brasserie – plus a fitness center, outdoor rooftop and flexible meeting space. Stylish guest rooms feature smart layouts, intuitive technology and calming, wellness-forward design elements.
ROOST White House

Located approximately 1,000 feet from Lafayette Square, ROOST debuts its first location in DC, marking entry into its sixth city. Combining the best of a hotel and apartment-style living, the stylish apartments come with big kitchens, ample workspace and lavish amenities.

The boutique hotel brand – with locations in Beverly Hills, California and New York’s Lower East Side – makes its DC debut on Connecticut Avenue near Dupont Circle. The luxury hotel will boast two trendy food and beverage concepts: Casamara, serving coastal Mediterranean, and Reynold’s, a cocktail bar whose name is a nod to Alexander Hamilton’s affair.

An 11-story former office building near McPherson Square has been converted into a hotel offering 85 high-end apartment-style suites, ranging from studios to two-bedrooms, complete with full kitchens and spacious living areas. Guests have access to an on-site fitness center, dedicated meeting space, a coworking lounge and grab-and-go station. There will also be an onsite restaurant and bar open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner headed by a local DC restaurateur.
Canal House of Georgetown, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Taking inspiration from the iconic Chesapeake & Ohio Canal, a five-story former office building has been combined with adjacent townhouses to create a 107-key property under Marriott’s Tribute portfolio. The comprehensive project encompasses a complete renovation of all guest rooms to include expanded bathrooms, plush bedding and contemporary finishes; refreshed and reconfigured public spaces that set the stage for a more elevated arrival experience; a fully renovated fitness center and indoor pool; lavish modernization of the hotel’s expansive conference facilities; and an extravagant redesign of the hotel’s dining establishments, including Article One – American Grill and Bar.

The iconic property unveiled a restoration to its 335 accommodations, drawing inspiration from the hotel’s rich legacy as a backdrop to several pivotal moments in American history. Guest rooms and suites have been thoughtfully reimagined, offering crystal chandeliers, intricate crown moldings, elegant draperies, hardwood flooring, commissioned paintings, custom furnishings, updated technology and custom wool rugs that preserve the hotel's historic character. The restored signature suites pay tribute to historic figures and pioneers, many of whom were guests. Examples include Eleanor Roosevelt, Helen Hayes, Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King, Jr.
Salamander Washington, DC

Middleburg, Virginia-based Salamander Collection, founded by entrepreneur Sheila Johnson, unveiled buzzworthy enhancements to the former 373-key Mandarin Oriental. The project reveals a brighter and more residential design. The lobby and its stunning bar, pool and modernly refreshed guest suites designed by Washington’s Thomas Pheasant were completed by late summer 2024 and a luxury two-story spa followed over the winter. Celebrity chef Kwame Onwuachi’s highly anticipated return to the nation’s capital, Dōgon, opened Sept. 9, 2024, to national acclaim. The restaurant is inspired by DC surveyor Benjamin Banneker and his heritage to the West African Dogon tribe.
