The nation's capital is going all-out with free fan zones, outdoor screenings, ticketed watch parties and special food and drink deals

Washington, DC is home to one of the country's most passionate and international soccer fan bases, making the city one of the best places to catch the 2026 FIFA World Cup™. 

Get ready to cheer on every goal with fans across the city throughout the World Cup. Whether you choose to join in on large-scale fan zones on the National Mall to neighborhood watch parties and sports bar specials, there's a place to catch every match.

Fan zones & free events

July 4

FIFA World Cup Fan Zone — National Mall

Neighborhood: National Mall (near the U.S. Capitol Building)

What to Expect:

  • All Team USA matches shown plus every knockout-round game.
  • Live match viewing, interactive exhibits, youth programming, cultural showcases, food, music and family-friendly activations.

Admission: Free and open to the public. More info.

 

D.C. United: United in Play Soccer Celebration

Dates:

  1. Franklin Park (Downtown): June 12-14
  2. Tingey Plaza (Navy Yard): June 19-21

What to Expect:

  • Select Matches: USA vs. Paraguay (June 12), Brazil vs. Morocco (June 13), USA vs. Australia (June 19) and more
  • Official FIFA World Cup 2026™ watch party with live match screenings, youth soccer activities, local food vendors and family-friendly programming
  • Hosted by D.C. United in partnership with the DowntownDC BID and Navy Yard BID.
  • Designated as Washington, DC's official World Cup epicenter by Mayor Muriel Bowser.

Hi-Lawn at Union Market

Neighborhood: NoMa & Union Market

What to Expect:

  • Rooftop turf soccer pitch, giant LED screens, capacity for up to 1,000 fans.
  • Soccer-themed trivia, DJs and entertainment.
  • Kid-friendly during daytime hours.

La Cosecha

Neighborhood: NoMa & Union Market

What to Expect: Large-screen viewing, themed pop-ups and tournament specials. Ideal for fans of Latin American national teams — with tacos, arepas, pupusas and Latin drinks throughout.

Wunder Garten x Volo Sports

Neighborhood: Shaw

What to Expect:

  • Kicks off with USA vs. Senegal (May 31) and USA vs. Germany (June 6).
  • 75+ activations
  • Giant indoor and outdoor screenings, themed entertainment, giveaways, fan competitions and specialty international brews.

Admission: Free and open to the public

 

The Wharf World Cup Watch Zone

Neighborhood: Southwest & The Wharf

Dates: June 11-30, July 1-19 (details still being finalized)

What to Expect:

  • Pearl Street transforms into an open-air viewing destination with a large outdoor screen.
  • Kirwan's and Pink Tiger hosting patio watch parties, with more restaurants expected to join.
