The Courtyard Bar at The Fairmont

Bubbles, Bites, Botanicals and 36 Brands of Gin!

Enjoy the Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown Courtyard Bar this season! Experience Fairmont's cherry blossom trees around the bar, situated in the center of the hotel's courtyard garden, with a retractable canopy to provide cover over the lengthy bar and seating area in front of a soothing water fountain, if needed. On cool spring evenings you can enjoy toasty fire pits, heaters and magical lighting to add to the ambiance in the urban oasis.

Featured bubbles include: 15 varieties of champagne and sparkling wine, 13 types of sparkling and still Rosé and 36 brands of gin, including Fairmont's very own gin. The team worked with One Eight Distilling, located right here in D.C's Ivy City neighborhood to create Untitled Gin No. 6. Executive Pastry Chef A.J. Thalakkat blended the flavors for the gin, which includes; juniper, apple, orange, hibiscus, rosehip, roses, cornflower and calendula petal. Botanicals such as lavender, rosemary and lemon thyme, grown in surrounding planters, will garish the cocktails. Throughout out the courtyard, well-established landscaping including herbs, flowers and cherry trees abound.

The hotel's Executive Chef Jordi and his culinary team created an amazing menu of Offshore Bites including:

  • Appalachian Cheese and Charcuterie Board I 23 orange preserves, pickles, Belmont peanuts

  • Shrimp Ajillo I 20 garlic-infused olive oil, smoked paprika, sherry

  • Crispy Chesapeake Bay Oysters I 23 tartare sauce

  • Grilled Spanish Octopus I 22 warm potato salad, paprika aioli

  • Sea Scallops I 22 shishito, heirloom cherry tomatoes, saffron broth

  • Flatbread I 18 tomato, fig spread, goat cheese, arugula

  • Thai Buffalo Wings I 20 sweet amp; sour sauce, peanuts

  • Beef Burger Sliders I 20 lettuce, tomato, pickle, cheddar, crispy onion

  • Southern Fried Chicken I 21 buttermilk ranch, Alabama and bbq dipping sauces

Not to be missed is the Apple Cheesecake - with a mini cherry blossom made with our unique Mara Chocolate, created in France by Executive Pastry Chef A.J. Thalakkat using Madagascar and Haitian Cacao beans. The flavor has the essence of dark fruit, such as cherries and blackberries, and finishes with dark notes of cacao.

The Courtyard Bar is open daily from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm Monday through Friday, 11 am until 10:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday and is available for receptions and private events.
