Dia de los Muertos at La Cosecha



Celebrate día de los muertos with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Latino

Día de los muertos is a time to honor and celebrate friends and family in the afterlife with their favorite things, including food and music. During this two-day festival, guests will learn about the traditions of this cherished holiday, honoring the memories of loved ones and celebrating the vibrant culture that makes our community shine.

  • Food and Drink: Taste the authentic flavors of various Latino foods from La Cosecha Latino Market. 






  • Cultural Experiences: Enjoy lively music and dance performances and enhance your skills with cooking demonstrations and flower arrangement workshops that bring the essence of día de los muertos to life. 






  • Ofrenda Exhibit: Visit artisan ofrendas (altars) crafted to honor and remember beloved community icons and ancestors.   






  • Muertos Parade: Watch participants parade in intricate masks, costumes, and face paint.  






  • Family Art Activities: Try your hand at making traditional crafts—learn how to make sugar skull magnets, papel picado, and more.
