Abraham Lincoln wasn’t the only celebrity in late 19th-century America. The National Portrait Gallery’s new exhibit will feature the work of Mathew Brady, who captured portraits of many of the era’s most important figures. The twenty portraits include intimate depictions of inventor Samuel Morse, showman P.T. Barnum, author Nathaniel Hawthorne, musician Teresa Carreño and many more. This exhibition will allow you to experience the culture of the U.S. during Lincoln’s time like never before.
