National Gallery of Art Community Celebration

March 25, 2018
From: 11:00 AM to 06:00 PM

What’s your American story?

Join us on March 25 for a celebration of American art and storytelling. Highlights include an original "Story Chorus" performance designed and lead by DC artist Holly Bass, a collaborative "sidewalk" project that asks participants to draw and write together, and engaging pop-up experiences with local educators and artists.

About Holly Bass   Holly Bass is a multidisciplinary performance and visual artist, writer, and director. Her work has been presented at spaces such as the Kennedy Center, the Smithsonian Museums, the Seattle Art Museum, Art Basel Miami Beach (Project Miami Fair), and the South African State Theatre. Her visual art spans photography, installation, video, and performance and is centered on social practice and community engagement. As a gifted and dedicated teaching artist, she currently directs a year-round creative writing and performance program for adjudicated youth in DC’s Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services as well as facilitating workshops nationally and internationally.   This program is made possible by a grant from the Walton Family Foundation.
