Sickle Cell Awareness Community Day Program

Join the National Museum of African American History and Culture this September for a special Community Day program in honor of National Sickle Cell Awareness Month, where the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) will be collaborating with the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) of the National Institutes of Health. This event aims to shed light on the significant impact of Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) on the African American community. You will have the opportunity to learn about the latest research, hear from leading experts, and engage with passionate advocates dedicated to raising awareness and advancing treatment for SCD. Additionally, personal stories from patients who have undergone treatment will provide a powerful, firsthand perspective on the challenges and triumphs of living with this disease. Join us as we unite to educate, advocate, and inspire action in the fight against Sickle Cell Disease.
