The first Black woman to serve on the US Supreme Court, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson will discuss her memoir entitled Lovely One. The conversation will explore her extraordinary life and her family’s rise from segregation to her confirmation on America’s highest court within the span of one generation. This event is featured in the museum’s annual Simmons Talks speakers series, which is supported through a generous endowment from Dr. Ruth J. Simmons, a President’s Distinguished Fellow at Rice University and member emerita of the NMAAHC National Council. Books will be available for purchase courtesy of Smithsonian Enterprises.
