‘Special Olympics at 50’

Commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first International Special Olympics Games through a display that highlights the lives of four accomplished athletes who participated in the games over the years. Learn about the climate of stigma and discrimination faced in the 1960s by people with intellectual disabilities, when Eunice Kennedy Shriver first began the camp that would grow into the Special Olympics.
