Voulkos: The Breakthrough Years
From: 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Voulkos: The Breakthrough Years, is the first exhibition to focus on the early career of Peter Voulkos (1924-2002), from 1953 to 1968. Voulkos' radical methods and ideas during this period fundamentally transformed his field in ways that are still being felt today. Originally trained as a functional potter, Voulkos defied mid-century craft dictums of proper technique and form.
